Health Insurance 
LifeBridge Health offers two medical plan options – administered by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. Each plan offers comprehensive health care benefits, including free preventive care services and coverage for prescription drugs. Choose any doctor under the three tier plans. This benefit gives employees the ability to choose a LifeBridge Health Network Provider, a CareFirst provider using the CareFirst Blue Choice Network or an Out-of-Network provider. The most cost savings will always be found in the LifeBridge Health Network. The Prescription Drug Plan provides generic, brand and nonformulary drugs through CVS Caremark.

Dental Coverage

Regular dental care is an important part of caring for your overall health. Dental coverage is offered with Cigna Dental using the Cigna Preferred Dental Plan. The annual maximum benefit for dental coverage is $1,500 for all eligible non-union employees. Preventive services are covered at 100%.

Disability Coverage

Short-term and long-term disability are available. In the event of a long-term disability, eligible full-time employees will continue to receive part of their pay.

Vision Discounts

Employees receive discounts on eye exams, lenses, frames and contact lenses. 

Retirement Plans

403(b)/401(k) and pension plans are offered at LifeBridge Health. Investment advisers help employees with their retirement plans, and a company match is available. 

Adoption Assistance

The Adoption Assistance program provides financial assistance to eligible employees who adopt a child under the age of 18. LifeBridge Health will reimburse a non-union employee with at least 1 year of service up to $3,500 for expenses relating to the legal and administrative costs of the adoption. 

Phase-In Retirement

Full-time and part-time nonunion employees age 60 or older who have worked at LifeBridge Health for at least five years can reduce their hours and become or stay part time as they approach retirement, yet keep their lower full-time medical, prescription and dental benefits rates. 

 

Spending Accounts

A variety of spending accounts are available that allow pre-tax payments for health care expenses such as prescriptions, glasses and dependent care expenses, including child and adult day care, nursery or preschool fees, and summer day camps. Medical FSA, Dependent Care FSA, Limited Purpose FSA and Health Spending Accounts are offered.

Tuition Assistance

Receive $2,500 - $5,000 annual reimbursement for higher education courses. Annual reimbursement is prorated for part-time employees. 

Workforce Development

In addition to tuition assistance, employees can take classes in computer skills and medical terminology. Each facility is defining career ladders and offers educational opportunities for employees to get better prepared to go back to school to earn a degree. 

The Leadership Institute

The center provides management, leadership and professional courses designed to improve performance and increase effectiveness by building and refining leadership skills, teamwork, collaboration and communication. The center also provides LifeBridge Health leaders with resources, tools, assessments and custom interventions for teams to increase collaboration and productivity.

A comprehensive program is in place to evaluate jobs throughout the system to ensure that pay rates are competitive. Market adjustments are made to ensure that pay keeps pace with changes in the greater Baltimore area (living wage). 

Health Club Membership Discount

Employees receive a discount on the membership fee at LifeBridge Health & Fitness, one of greater Baltimore’s pre-eminent health and fitness centers. $59.00 per month for the first 12 months (40% off) --website says it is “$59 for 12-month membership” 

Free Flu Shots

Employees can receive a free flu shot each year.

Community Events LifeBridge is a part of:

The LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group is visible LBH systemwide as well as in the community throughout Maryland. They have organized LBH as sponsors of Baltimore Pride and Westminster Pride for two years in a row, as well as participated in community LGBTQ job fairs.  

Community- Honors

The community diversity initiative was formally launched in 2008 as a way to get the organization involved in the surrounding community. Leaders throughout the organization are involved in community agencies and programs as volunteers. LifeBridge also has an extensive community outreach program focused on health screens and education regarding diabetes, cancer, heart health, etc.

One key initiative that continues to gain momentum is the LifeBridge Community Service Corps, which is open to all employees interested in working together to give back to the community. The Community Service Corp partners with community organizations in service projects such as park beautification, building maintenance/painting, playground construction, senior home repair and food, gift and book drives.

President and CEO Neil Meltzer was recognized as the "Corporate Citizen of the Year" at the 2019 Maryland LGBT Chamber of Commerce First Annual Champion Awards. Neil received this in recognition of his advocacy for diversity. 
LifeBridge Health team members recently joined more 1,500 healthcare professionals from across the region at the 15th annual Maryland Patient Safety Conference. LifeBridge Health was honored with several awards for Patient Safety. 
Learning Walk of Knowledge provides exciting learning experiences for Baltimore County students. Recently, these students had the opportunity to showcase what they have learned from both classroom and clinical experience at the annual State of the Schools. The students provided free blood pressure screenings and other educational information.
