As a member of the surgical team, provides technical assistance to the surgeon/physician during surgical intervention under the supervision of the RN. When not directly assisting the physician in a procedure, may participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse. Maintains instruments and equipment in area of specialization.

Requirements: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma or GED equivalent; Accredited Surgical Technology Course Certificate, Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.  Basic computer skills, Synquest, Medical terminology, Surgical equipment and instruments, Hospital computer systems.  Three to five years of experience.  May work four 10 hour days or two 8 hour and two 12 hour days.  Required to take call.
