Coordinates the activities of Respiratory Care Practitioners; oversees equipment resources, develops and communicates policies and procedures, and performs clinical duties, to ensure optimal quality and continuity of service. As a member of the management team, acts as consultant to the clinical team, and medical staff on respiratory clinical and safety practice. Participates in Performance Improvement and staff development processes. Acts as a bedside mentor and resource to staff; develops professional relationships for designated area of responsibility.
Requirements: Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field; Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences; MD Respiratory Care Practitioner License; Registered by the NBRC; ACLS -PALS- NRP; RRT, BLS, CPR Certification. Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer skills; Cerner; Synquest; Standard Office Equipment; Medical terminology; Nursing Process skills based on MD Nurse Practice Act; Critical thinking skills; Medical equipment; Three to five (3-5) years of experience. One year of critical care experience; Delivery room experience required. Advanced airway skills and arterial line insertion experience preferred.
