Under limited supervision, ensures the accuracy, precision and reproducibility of medically prescribed radiation treatments to patients by performing equipment compliance and acceptance testing, and calculating pretreatment radiation dosimetry. Assists in the management of radiation safety practices in Radiation Oncology, and provides Hospital radiation safety services in the Radiation Safety Officers absence. 

The department of Radiation Oncology at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland is seeking applications from clinically oriented Radiation Oncology Physicists to join a 15-member team that includes three radiation oncologists, two physicists and one dosimetrist.  An MS or Ph.D. degree with appropriate clinical training is required.  At least one year experience required, with preference given to candidates who are board certified or board eligible.

The department is an attractive mix of state of the art technology in a traditional private community hospital setting.  Candidates will be involved with the department�s rapidly growing program, CyberKnife stereotactic radiosurgery with two Cyk units, as well as the department�s external beam program (Varian 2100C),  and brachytherapy program, which includes prostate seed implants, Intravascular brachytherapy, HDR, and LDR.  The department has houses a Phillips 16 slice CT Simulator.

Sinai is a designated CyberKnife Training  Center in conjunction with vendor, Accuray, for new CyberKnife sites around the country.  Opportunity for speaking and training related to stereotactic radiosurgery exist.  Excellent salary and benefits, academic opportunities.
