- Associate's Degree required
As a member of the surgical team, provides advanced technical assistance to the surgeon/physician during surgical intervention under the supervision of the RN. When not directly assisting the physician in a procedure, may participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of the Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse. Maintains equipment, instruments, and preference cards in the specialty area (orthopedics).
Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field; CPR Certification, Accredited Surgical Technology Course Certificate, Surgical Technologist Certification Preferred. Microsoft Office Suite, Critical thinking skills, Surgical Equipment and Instruments, Hospital computer systems, Basic computer skills, Synquest, Medical terminology. Three to five years of experience. May work four 10 hour days or two 8 hour and two 12 hour days. Required to take call.
