Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with activities of daily living while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Requirements: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Two (2) years post high school training or the following equivalent experience: Six (6) months or more recent experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, Critical Care Technician, or Medical Corpsman. OR Must successfully complete educational program for Emergency Medical Technician, Critical Care Technician or Medical Corpsman AND have at least five (5) years experience as Nursing Technician - Emergency Department at Sinai Hospital as of 9/1/95. (This is a one-time" grandfather" clause for incumbents.) OR Must be currently enrolled in an accredited RN program; must have successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing and one semester of adult acute care clinical experience. If a break in school attendance has occurred, must have completed required courses within the past two years. Physician's assistant or medical school course work will be reviewed on an individual basis. GNA / CNA Licensure; Hospital orientation/training program; CPR Health Care Provider or Professional Rescuer; Basic computer skills; Communication devices; Interpersonal/communication/organizational skills. Less than one year of experience.
